Florida Burn, Baseball Tech and Mental Preparation

The Florida Burn is a travel organization based in Southwest Florida. Mark Guthrie – the former Major League pitcher and World Series Champion (1991) – is Head Coach of the organization that has produced numerous college players and even some MLB Draft picks. The Florida Burn is a well known attractor for future D1 players and Guthrie’s philosophy of the game and life becomes part of a player’s experience when on the Florida Burn.

The Florida Burn players have had exposure to uHIT since its early days as being deCervo’s first product to improve decisions (2017). In fact, deCervo’s first intern was Kevin Guthrie, Mark’s son, who successfully lobbied the deCervo founders for the position when he learned about the tech developing into uHIT. Coming out of Brown University as a baseball player, this internship was a first step for Kevin into the professional baseball world. And we are proud of where it has led him – the Pittsburgh Pirates and, today, the Detroit Tigers organizations.
